Automation Systems Centre carries out research, development, application and implementation work in two basic areas:
Industrial automation systems
Building automation systems
In the field of industrial automation we focus on solving problems and developing new technologies for the monitoring and control of objects and processes. With the use of these technologies we develop new reliable hardware and software solutions that can work in different environment conditions.
Our staff can assist you in the following industrial automation issues:
- identification of technological objects and processes, including design and measuring experiments (with the use of the Datalogger-type devices) followed by the analysis of obtained results,
- making simulation models of objects and processes that allow to carry out research in laboratory conditions (with the use of the MatLab and OMNeT++ systems). This way it is possible to complement or even replace expensive, time- and labour-consuming research in real conditions.
- application of computational intelligence methods (fuzzy sets and rough sets) in automation, control and monitoring systems, in the conditions of incomplete information about the state of the object (process),
- application of state-of-the-art information and data transfer technologies in automation, control, monitoring and diagnostic systems (GSM SMS, Internet),
- developing middleware software for integrated automation systems and information systems.
- application of programmable logical controllers (Siemens S7) in automation, control, monitoring and diagnostic systems,
- application of SCADA systems (InTouch, EbiScada) in automation, control, monitoring and diagnostic systems.
Selected projects developed recently:
- Automatic braking system – a specific targeted project by the Minister of Science, 2000-2002
- Fuzzy-logic regulation of circulating water temperature in a boiler system working in a heat distribution network – a research grant by the Minister of Science, 2001-2002
- Computer-aided testing system for single-phase and three-phase motors in a production process – a specific targeted project by the Minister of Science, 2004-2005
- System for superordinate control and electro-filter control in Thomson Multimedia, Piaseczno – HRMC Polska, 2003
- Hopper-scales control system for the Ziemowit Coal Mine – Nadwi¶lański Węgiel, Tychy, 2003
- Developing a visualization system for a diagnostic metro station in Prague, Czech Republic – Bombardier ZWUS, Katowice, 2003-2004
Our staff can assist you in the following building automation issues:
- Distributed control systems with the use of standard fieldbus networks (LonWorks, EIB, Profibus, CAN, P-Net).
- Applications of the LonWorks technology (Neuron chips, control modules, routers, LonBuilder, LonMaker, DDE Server, OPC Server, i.LON).
- Use of the Internet for communication and remote control of buildings.
- Development of the intelligent automation system SABIO for buildings and residences.
- Design and implementation methods for open building automation systems: requirements and architecture specifications for real-time automation systems security, energy, and air quality management communication servers, remote Internet-based access to building automation systems.
Selected projects developed recently:
- Open network communication systems for building automation integration – a project ordered by the Minister of Economy, 2001-2002
- Network access control system for big facilities – a specific targeted project by the Minister of Science, 2001-2002
- Intelligent electronic building security system – a specific targeted project by the Minister of Science, 2003-2004
- Working time registration system for Delphi, Tychy, 2001
